Work

I am a trained illustrator from Falmouth College of Art, where I honed the skills that have shaped my creative journey. Over the years, I’ve expanded my expertise to include sequential design and animation, always grounded in my love for drawing. Whether I work traditionally or digitally, my process always begins on paper. Drawing is at the heart of everything I create. I’ve developed a set of digital tools designed to reflect traditional mediums, aiming to capture the tactile feel of print—with all its charming blunders and irregularities. It’s those imperfections that give an image its unique character. I find endless inspiration in the work of contemporary illustrators such as Marc Boutavant, Joel Stewart, Luise Lockhart, and Emily Sutton, among others. I am also drawn to timeless legends like Arnold Lobel, Roger Duvoisin, Edward Ardizzone, Tove Jansson, Mary Shepard, and Edward Gorey.

Illustration
Drawing inspiration from both the masters of mid-century art and contemporary illustrators, I bring a unique blend of traditional drawing and painting techniques to children's book projects.
From Animation to Publishing
Combining my skills as an animator, sequential designer, and illustrator, I've had the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects. From creating captivating BBC promos featuring the beloved Ivor the Engine to contributing to the enchanting TV and book series, The Adventures of Abney and Teal.
Pen & Ink
Lines are my illustration foundation, hand-drawn and digitally refined. This blend enhances compositions, combining digital flexibility with organic line work for dynamic art.
